Thus begins the new semester. The most important development in the history of the comic thus far is the arrival of John's eyepatch. Being a fake rasta was just not enough for the Troll's foil. The three-part series on those friends who pop in and out of your life, and the frustration that sets in as a result, is alright but not spectacular.

Yeah, there's half the problem right there. It takes a lot of calculation on the part of the reader to figure out that a girl named Beth, who showed up 2 years later, makes bi-annual visits and is therefore named Bi-annual Beth to the Troll. I find one of my greatest weaknesses in writing is assuming a reader can tie together loose connections.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Liz meant, "who's bi-annual Beth" to you, like in real life... maybe?
By the way, I love your comics, they're grrreat! Oh, and funny too.
I have no recollection of who bi-annual Beth was in real life. Probably based on some ludicrous circumstances of mine. Ah well.
